Terms of Service

Welcome to Lumiverzum! These terms govern the relationship between you and the service provider (Marin Vinković, postal address available on request by e-mail; hereinafter: "we"). By using the service you accept these terms.

The Croatian version of this document is the legally binding one. This translation exists so you can understand what you are agreeing to, not so it can be interpreted against the original.

1. What Lumiverzum is

Lumiverzum is a guided learning platform: the mascot Lumi leads a child through lessons aligned with the Croatian school curriculum — through explanation, example, knowledge check and summary. Lumiverzum is a supplement to schooling and learning, not a replacement for school, teachers or professional pedagogical support.

2. Account and child profiles

Only an adult may open an account. The parent or guardian creates child profiles, gives consent for the processing of the child's data (see the Privacy Policy) and is responsible for the accuracy of the data and for safeguarding the account credentials. The child logs in with a PIN set by the parent.

3. Permitted use

The service is intended for personal, non-commercial use for learning. It is not permitted to: share an account outside the household, circumvent technical protections, copy or resell lesson content, use automated tools for bulk access, or attempt to disrupt the service.

4. Lumi and artificial intelligence

Lumi replies to what the child writes — in a lesson, in the conversation on the home screen, and alongside the reading assignment. The replies are composed by a computer program (artificial intelligence), and that must be clear before the child types anything for the first time.

Lumi is not a teacher, not a psychologist and not a substitute for professional help. His answers can be inaccurate or incomplete, as with any such program, so they should not be relied on as a verified source. For sensitive topics Lumi does not give advice but points the child to a trusted adult — that is deliberate and is not a fault.

The parent monitors the conversations and is responsible for that supervision. The full transcript and a weekly summary are available in the parent area; how the data is processed is described in point 5 of the Privacy Policy.

Conversation can be switched off for each child separately, using a switch in the parent area. The service then works without it: lessons, knowledge checks, points, progress and reading do not depend on any model.

5. Content and intellectual property

The lesson content, the character and name Lumi, the name Lumiverzum, the visual identity and the source code are our property or the property of our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them in accordance with these terms.

6. Price

Closed testing is free. If and when we introduce paid options, we will announce them in advance, with prices and conditions — nothing is charged without your explicit agreement. A basic tier of the service is planned to remain free (freemium).

7. Availability and changes to the service

We are developing and improving the service, so individual features may change, be added or be removed. We do our best to keep the service continuously available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation — especially during the test phase.

8. Liability

During the test phase the service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee particular educational results (school marks still depend on studying 🙂). To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for indirect damage is excluded. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, nor affects rights that consumers have under mandatory provisions.

9. Termination

A parent may delete a child profile or the entire account at any time in the parent area — the data is then deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy. We may restrict or terminate access to an account that breaches these terms, with prior notice where reasonably possible.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Croatia. Disputes fall under the court having subject-matter jurisdiction at the controller's seat, unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise.
